Volcanoes National Park is located in North-Western part of Rwanda, a home of endangered Mountain Gorillas and threatened Golden Mankeys in the foothills of 5 dormant volcanoes, so visiting this site is in the unique opportunities to see gorillas in their natural habitat which is unforgettable, a life experience and some even say life changing.
Encounters with gorillas as they go about their daily lives, are carefully managed, with expert trackers and guides leading small groups of tourists up bamboo-covered slopes to spend a precious and awe-inspiring hour just a few feet away from the gentle creatures, tracking gorillas is done early morning as around 07hoo, and it is done first by briefing of the parks’ ranger and driving to the starting point of trekking, from Kigali International Airport to this site is 2.5 hours of driving and trekking this gentle great apes can take 3 to 6 hours according to their movement.
Among other activities in this park, there are Golden Monkeys tracking, Bisoke hiking, Karisimbi hiking, Sabyinyo hiking, Muhabura hiking ,Gahinga Hiking, Buhanga Eco Park, and exploring Musanze Caves.
